Apata Memorial School is well-known as 'a place for excellence' and our academic, sporting, artistic and community achievements place us among the top schools in Nigeria.

There is no secret behind the rapid growth and expansion of the school, but the simple truth is the GLORY AND GRACE OF ALMIGHTY GOD, the dedication and relentless effort of the Late Proprietor and his family, the teaching and non-teaching staff, and the assistance of those who cherish the educational development of a Nigerian child. The School's success was achieved as a result of our hero's humility, respect, large heart and friendly attitude towards everybody that came his way or had contact with him.

A decade ago, precisely on Sunday night, 8th January, 1995, Nigerians and the Apata family lost a rare gem, philanthropist and humble employer of labour in person of Mr. S.O. Apata, the late founder and Proprietor of Apata Memorial School. However, the school is still waxing stronger by the grace of Almighty God.

We will always appreciate the Lagos State Ministry of Education for the continuous interest and support given to the school which has helped tremendously to improve and grow.
