OUR MISSION
The mission of the International Community School, Abuja, an internationally accredited Christian school with a warm family atmosphere, in partnership with the entire school community is to provide an environment where our students discover and achieve their optimum potential, acquire social and moral values, develop a positive self-image and collaborate in an internationally diverse community. This will be achieved by providing an enriched American curriculum with a highly skilled, committed faculty in a continuously improving technological learning environment.
OUR VISION
To provide a high quality education that produces a globally minded community that is internationally diverse.
History
International Community School (ICS) embarked on its educational mission in 1998 with a humble start of just eight students and three dedicated educators. From these modest beginnings, our school experienced gradual yet consistent growth, thoughtfully expanding our classrooms and facilities. By 2012, our first campus had reached its full capacity, a testament to the growing demand for the ICS experience.
ICS became a member of the Council of International Schools, Principal’s Training Center and other educational agencies and became accredited locally with the Abuja DQA, the agency responsible for accrediting private schools. It was fully accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the Middle States Association (MSA) in 2006 and re-accredited during the 2023/2024. During the 2024/2025 ICS became a member school of the ACSI.
Recognizing the increasing demand for admissions and the limitations of our first site, August 2013 marked a pivotal moment in our history. We relocated to our current, expansive campus, thoughtfully designed to nurture a larger student body. This vibrant learning environment now comfortably accommodates students from Play Group through Grade 12, with the provision for three classes at each grade level, allowing us to welcome a more diverse and growing community of learners.
