NCDMB Launches Nationwide Oil & Gas Field Readiness Training Program



The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has unveiled its Oil & Gas Field Readiness Training Program, a nationwide initiative aimed at equipping over 10,000 Nigerians with high-demand technical and professional skills needed for the thriving oil and gas sector. The fully sponsored program prepares participants for real job opportunities created by ongoing and new investments in Nigeria’s energy industry.

1. Top Skills Offered

Participants can select up to three high-impact skill areas, including:
• Subsea Engineering (wellheads, flowlines, umbilicals)
• Underwater Welding
• Control & Automation Engineering (rig operations, well controls)
• Helicopter Piloting
• Seafarer & Marine Operations (vessel mechanics, marine electricians)
• Production & Maintenance Engineering
• QA/QC Engineering (Non-Destructive Testing Levels 1–3)
• Geoscience Engineering (seismic, geophysics, wellsite geology)
• Digital & Data Technologies (AI, Machine Learning, IoT, Big Data, Cloud, Drones)

2. Eligibility Criteria

✔ Be a Nigerian citizen under 35 years old
✔ Possess at least OND, HND, or BSc in relevant fields such as: • Petroleum Engineering • Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering • Gas, Welding, Metallurgy • Geology or Geophysics • Computer Sciences/Engineering or related disciplines

3. Training Structure & Support

The program runs for 2–3 years and combines:

???? Laboratory/workshop practicals to build hands-on skills
???? Skills certification aligned with industry standards
???? At least six months of on-the-job training (OJT) with partnered service companies

1. Visit the NOGIC JQS portal. 2. Create an account or log in if you already have one. 3. Update your profile with academic and contact details. 4. Register for the Oil & Gas Field Readiness Training Program. 5. Select up to three preferred skill areas in order of preference.

The application is completely free, and training is fully sponsored.
