HOPELAND INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL KUBWA
In Nigeria today, the lack of quality education has been and underlying factor in the ongoing problems currently bedeviling us. Moreover people with low level of literacy have limited ability to male important informed decisions in everyday life as they struggle with tasks such as filling out forms and applications, understanding simple medical/drug prescriptions, nutritional labels, instructional manuals, understanding government policies and more. The inability to carry out the above activities that require basic literacy skills, bring about frustration of the children mentally and psychologically. Consequently, they lack the intellectual capacity to create or compete for good jobs and opportunities hence their easy inclination to be involved in illegal activities such as armed robbery, prostitution, internet fraud, kidnapping, etc.
One major predictor of violence is literacy. A good and basic level of literacy enables a person understand the laws of the land. According to the Melissa Institute: Up to 80 percent of violent juvenile offenders are functionally illiterate.
As an institution, we desire to produce a generation of internationally-minded citizens of our country who will be confident, purpose-driven, reliable and are genuinely passionate about being solution providers.
HOPELAND INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL aims to achieve this by exposing our children to our rich curriculum, high moral standards and inculcating our five core values in them which are Perseverance, Responsibility, Integrity, Dedication and Excellence.
