Lagos State has officially released the Harmonised Academic Calendar for the 2025/2026 academic session, applicable to all public and private pre-tertiary schools. The schedule standardizes term dates, professional development sessions, breaks, and observances across schools in the state.
Quick Insight: The academic year runs from mid-September 2025 to late July 2026 across three terms, totaling 182 school days—balancing instructional continuity with key national holidays and regulatory guidelines.
1. First Term (Sep–Dec 2025)
- Staff Professional Development: Mon 8 – Fri 12 Sept 2025
- Resumption: Mon 15 Sept – Fri 19 Dec 2025
- Includes mid-term break (3–7 Nov), Open Days (30–31 Oct), and relevant public holidays.
- Total instructional days: 64
2. Second Term (Jan–Apr 2026)
- Resumption: Mon 12 Jan – Fri 17 Apr 2026
- Mid-term break: Mon 23 Feb – Fri 27 Feb
- Includes public holidays: Good Friday (3 Apr), Easter Monday (6 Apr), Eid-el-Fitr (20–23 Mar)
- Total instructional days: 61
3. Third Term (May–Jul 2026)
- Resumption: Mon 4 May – Fri 24 Jul 2026
- Mid-term break: Mon 15 Jun – Fri 19 Jun
- Public holidays observed: Workers’ Day (1 May), Children’s Day (27 May), Eid-el-Kabir (27–28 May), Democracy Day (12 Jun)
