1,000 Osun Students Receive Free UTME and WAEC Registration Forms

Osun students receiving UTME and WAEC forms

About 1,000 indigent students from senior secondary schools across communities in Osun State were presented with free Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and West African Examination Council (WAEC) registration forms during a programme held in Ejigbo.

Quick Insight: The initiative was launched to empower brilliant but financially challenged students by removing the cost barrier for these important exams.

Who Benefited

Students from Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore, and Ejigbo Federal Constituency received forms, with some getting UTME registration and others covered for WAEC. The distribution was part of the 10th anniversary of a local education support programme.

Selection and Support

Beneficiaries were drawn from 20 public secondary schools, with the top students from each school selected. Additional places were filled through nominations by community leaders, religious groups, and traditional institutions to ensure fairness.

About the Initiative

The programme was started in 2016 and has helped thousands of students, with over 7,000 UTME and WAEC forms distributed over the years to youths who might otherwise struggle to afford the fees.

Final Thoughts

By providing free exam registration forms, the initiative aims to increase access to educational opportunities and relieve some of the financial burdens families face, especially in challenging economic times.
Tip: If you know programs like this in your community, consider checking with school leaders or local groups — they often have support options for students that many families aren’t aware of.
