Scholarship Types & Coverage

Need-Based Scholarship (Primary Focus)

Targeted at students from families whose total annual income falls below the established poverty line. Financial need is the primary consideration.

Eligibility: Demonstrated severe financial hardship.
Required Proof: Affidavit/Proof of parental/guardian income.

Academic Merit Scholarship (Secondary Focus)

Awarded to students who show outstanding academic potential (minimum 80% average in core subjects) and also demonstrate moderate financial need.

Eligibility: Proven academic excellence (Last Term's Report Card).
Required Proof: Academic transcripts and moderate financial need documentation.

Duration and Coverage

The NPS is a full, annual scholarship covering the necessary costs to enroll and thrive in a chosen partner private school.

Terms and Conditions (NPS)

1. Eligibility and Application

1.1. Applicant Status: The scholarship is open to Nigerian citizens between the ages of 10 and 17, seeking entry or continuation in Junior Secondary School (JSS) or Senior Secondary School (SSS) levels.

1.2. Financial Need: Applicants must demonstrate a verified and substantial financial need, supported by official documentation (e.g., an affidavit or community leader's letter).

1.3. Academic Standing: Applicants must provide their most recent academic report card, demonstrating commitment and potential (minimum 65% average).

2. Scholarship Coverage and Duration

2.1. Coverage: The scholarship covers tuition, required textbooks, uniforms, and mandatory school fees for one academic year at an NPS partner private school.

2.2. Renewal: The scholarship is valid for one academic year and is subject to annual renewal. Renewal requires the scholar to maintain an academic average of 70% (B-average) or higher and demonstrate impeccable conduct.

3. Scholarship Withdrawal

3.1. Misconduct: The NPS Committee reserves the right to withdraw the scholarship immediately if the student engages in severe academic dishonesty, violent misconduct, or fails to comply with the school's and NPS's code of conduct.

3.2. Academic Failure: Failure to meet the 70% renewal threshold for two consecutive academic terms without compelling extenuating circumstances (verified by the NPS Committee) will result in non-renewal for the subsequent year.

4. Data and Privacy

4.1. Use of Information: All personal and financial information collected during the application process will be used solely for the purpose of scholarship assessment and administration. Donors' email addresses will be used for receipts and impact reports only.

4.2. Publicity: Scholars and their guardians agree to allow the NPS to use their non-sensitive photographs and success stories for promotional and fundraising purposes, provided all identifying details are anonymized or approved in writing.
